June-August: Mow until lawn goes dormant; water regularly to supply amount necessary for your grass type; watch for insect outbreaks and infestation; fertilize cool season grasses in late August, just as weather cools, possibly with weed control. Mow as often as necessary to ensure lawn is kept at ideal height; fertilize warm season grasses midsummer; check for insect outbreaks and treat as necessary.
September-October: Continue mowing as long as grass is actively growing, but lower the mowing height by ½”; reduce watering slightly. Watch for disease outbreaks, fertilize as necessary, overseed with cool-season grass seed as preferred.
November-December: Winterize mower and power equipment for storage over winter months. Remove leaves and debris off lawn as necessary; check for fall insect outbreaks.
